Looking after yourself in 2015

Hello 2015! I am happy you are here. This is going to be a truly amazing year. Starting it out right will give yourself a super head start to getting what you want, and achieving your inner goals this year. Forget about New Year Resolutions that are too big and too insane. Get to the nitty gritty of what bothers you about you. Start small and feel great!

Here is my list of nitty-gritty things I am going to continue to do this year. Things I know make me feel great and are proven to work for me. Hey - it's only taken me 32 years to compile. Must be worth something!

  1. Cleanse, tone and moisturise - morning & night.  This will give your skin the boost it needs, as well as time to rejuvenate and breathe. Cleansing at the end of the day also makes you feel a whole lot more in control of your skin. Trust me, this one is super important.
  2. Drink herbal tea throughout the day. This will not only keep you warm in the Winter, it will also make sure you stay hydrated. This is the hardest season to keep your water balance in check.
  3. Berocca! A vitamin boost to knock off your socks and keep you topped up with all things good.
  4. Manuka honey. This is full of antibacterial properties which are generally shown to boost the immune system.
  5. Hot baths.  Bathing in hot water improves blood circulation, lymph circulation, detoxification and helps to relax muscles.
  6. Cold showers. Having a cold shower will increase your alertness! It will also tighten your pores, preventing them from getting clogged.
  7. Letter-writing and gratitude pledging. Just because it makes you feel GOOD to do it.
  8. Smile all the time. As above!
  9. Pull funny faces.  The reason I pull funny faces all the time is simply because it is my way to exercise my facial muscles which in turn helps lift, firm, tone and reduce wrinkles.
  10. Dance to music in secret.  Get moving - get happy.
*UPDATE*
I had a couple of emails asking about beauty products, so here is a list of all the products that I use (not all at the same time, mostly)

Nails: Rimmel London French Manicure - in French Rose / Nude Silhouette. On my toes I use a bright pink Barry M shade called Passion Fruit mostly. I like the surprise of bright toes.
Moisture: Here is a mixture of different creams that I use for different parts of my face, hands, nails, and skin generally: Cowshed Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion; L'Occitane Delightful Rose Hand Cream; Benefit It's Potent eye cream; L'Occitane Precious Cream (Immortelle); Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream; Clinique dramatically different lotion.
Toners/ Cleansers: I use either L'Oreal VitaLift rejuvenating cleansing smoothing toner or Neal's Yard Rehydrating Rose Toner.
Make-up: Benefit Boi-ing concealer; Rimmel London eyeshadow stick; Carmex moisture plus lip balm; Benefit loose powder (ivory); Benefit dandelion brightening face powder.

What little things will YOU do to keep yourself happy and healthy this year?

Love, A xx

    1. Sounds perfectly good! I need to get more protein in my diet. There's a post coming up on that! I might do some research on the fitbit!
